IDF soldier hurt by stone thrower near Nablus
Man suffers minor injuries when hit in face with rock on patrol; stone shatters window of Jerusalem light rail
An IDF soldier suffered minor injuries Tuesday evening when he was struck in the face by a stone thrown by a Palestinian near the West Bank city of Nablus.
The unit was on a foot patrol near the Samaritan neighborhood outside the Palestinian city when they were attacked. The soldier was taken to Petah Tikva’s Beilinson Medical Center for treatment.
The IDF searched the area for suspects.
In a separate incident, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at an Israeli vehicle near the West Bank settlement of Alon Moreh. No injuries or damage were reported.
The attacks occurred as the cabinet met in Jerusalem to come up with more stringent punishments for stone throwers following a string of violent attacks in Jerusalem. One man was killed and several others injured in stone-throwing attacks over the Jewish New Year.
Earlier in the evening, stones thrown by Palestinians in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat struck the Jerusalem Light Rail, shattering a window. No injuries were reported.
