Israeli mother and daughter killed in Switzerland car crash
Cause of accident on rural highway not yet determined; embassy working to return bodies for burial
An Israeli mother and daughter were killed in a car crash in southern Switzerland overnight Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry said.
The fatal crash occurred on the A2 highway just outside the village of Quinto, shortly after the two crossed into Switzerland from Italy in a rental car.
According to reports, both were residents of Rishon Lezion.
Swiss authorities have not yet determined the cause of the accident.
The Israeli embassy in the country is working closely with local authorities to return their bodies home for burial.
The family was notified overnight.
