Israeli planes strike at Gaza after mortars shot into Israel

Five people reported injured when plane hits target in Rafah in southern Strip

Israel Air Force planes struck targets in Gaza late Sunday night, a day after three mortars were shot at troops patrolling near the Strip.

The planes hit a military training center in the southern part of the Strip near Rafah and a site related to terror activities near the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.

Palestinians reported five people, including a woman and child, were injured in the first attack. There were no reports of injuries in the second strike.

Earlier in the day, Israel Defense Forces tanks fired towards Palestinian targets across the Gaza border in response to mortar shells fired on a unit that was on patrol in the Eshkol region.

There were no injuries in the attack on the Israeli patrol.
