It’s a lockdown to a t-spin, for Tetris fans in Tel Aviv

The municipality turns one side of its building into a giant version of the eighties video game

Calling all Tetris fans, the Tel Aviv municipality launched a massive version of the tile-matching puzzle video game on the City Hall building.

It’s not the first time the hugely popular, eighties-era video game has been played on the side of a building, but it’s a first for Israel.

The 3,000-meter facade of City Hall was lit with 480 different colored Tetris cells, controlled by two giant joysticks set up outside, in Rabin Square.

The giant game of Tetriminos is available for free to the public, who can play Tetris, as well as Pong and Snake.

The video game is available throughout the last week of August, and then on subsequent Thursday evenings, after nightfall.

The tournament was launched to mark the approaching DLD Tel Aviv Innovation Festival which starts on September 25th through to the 29.
