Pop star Janet Jackson posted pictures on Saturday of a short visit she made to the West Bank last week in her role as ambassador for UNICEF — the United Nations Children’s Fund.

During her visit, she stopped at Yatta High School near Hebron and took time to chat with shepherds in the southern Hebron hills.

A picture posted to her Twitter account showed her with a group of smiling pupils and the caption “Beautiful Palestinian students.”

Jackson, 48, entered the West Bank on December 17 from Jordan, where she also visited a refugee camp for those who had fled the civil war in Syria.

There was no indication that Jackson planned to go on to visit Israel as well.

The entertainer was accompanied by her billionaire Qatari husband Wissam al-Mana on the unannounced trip.

In Jordan, Jackson visited the Zaatari refugee camp, which is home to thousands of Syrian refugees.

The youngest of the famous performing Jackson family, and sister to Michael Jackson, Janet married Mana — who is nine years her junior — at a private ceremony in 2012.
