Jennifer Lawrence loves Larry David
Writer-producer says he's flattered by the actress's crush, but 'doesn't think he could do it'
Jennifer Lawrence confessed her love for Jewish comedian and Seinfeld co-creator Larry David in an interview with Vanity Fair last week.
In the interview for magazine’s November cover story, the 24-year-old actress said, “I’m in love with him, and I have been for a really long time. I worship Woody Allen, but I don’t feel it in a below-the-belt the way I do for Larry David.”
When asked about the Lawrence’s crush on him at the 15th annual New Yorker Festival on Sunday, the producer responded, “Smart kid. It’s a shame that I’m about 40 years older than she is.”
The 67-year-old David, who is divorced, seemed skeptical of the Oscar winner’s “below the belt” feelings for him, and retorted that perhaps the actress was “referring to her knees.”
“I don’t think I could do it,” he told reporters at the festival. “On one hand, it’s very flattering and on another hand, it’s kind of a shame — in terms of timing. I’d have fun watching the reality show of it, though.”
