Jewish Google Glass ceiling broken
RustyBrick develops app to help wearers find nearest synagogue, sunset times, Hebrew translations
NEW YORK (JTA) — RustyBrick Inc., a New York State web development company, has developed a Jewish app for GoogleGlass.
JewGlass will deliver customized Jewish information such as sunset times, directions to nearby synagogues and Hebrew translations. It also will provide information related to Jewish learning, such as the Torah portion of the week or the day’s Daf Yomi, and detect nearby kosher restaurants.
The app is being called the first of many projected Jewish applications of GoogleGlass, a wearable computer that allows users to control the visual display of information with hand gestures and voice commands.
RustyBrick was founded in 1994 and is based in West Nyack, in Rockland County, about 18 miles north of New York City.
