Rapper Kanye West wanted to give a free, surprise concert at Jerusalem’s Tower of David museum Monday night, but was too exhausted after a day of touring, according to museum sources.

Despite the lack of confirmation, people were streaming to the tower all evening in hopes of a late, 11 pm concert, said a museum spokesperson.

The museum is located at Jaffa Gate, near the Old City souk.

West, his wife Kim Kardashian, their daughter North and Kardashian’s sister, Khloe, are all in Israel for a brief visit following their eight-day visit in Armenia.

The family group visited the city’s Armenian Cathedral Monday afternoon for the baptism of North, and were expected to visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the Western Wall.

Later on, they dined with Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat at Mona, a local bistro.

West’s plan for an impromptu concert in Jerusalem wasn’t without precedent — he also performed at Armenia’s Swan Lake Sunday night, but was cut short by local police after he jumped into the lake.
