Light plane crashes near Bat Yam shore; teen passenger in critical condition
Pilot, in his 60s, is lightly hurt; police close off beach; cause of crash not yet clear

A light plane carrying two people crashed near the shore in Bat Yam shortly after noon on Friday.
The aircraft came down just off the beach. The pilot, in his 60s, was pulled out of the water in light condition.
The passenger, a 15-year-old boy, became trapped inside the plane as it sank into the water.
He was brought out in critical condition and rushed to Wolfson Medical Center. Medical officials said they were fighting for his life.
Police said they had closed the beach, and appealed to the public not to approach the area.
The cause of the crash is not yet known.

Military choppers were also involved in rescue efforts.
