Light plane makes emergency landing at Ben Gurion Airport

Malfunction in wheels of ultralight carrying two passengers prompts brief alert

A state of emergency was briefly declared Saturday at Ben Gurion Airport after a malfunction was discovered in the wheels of an ultralight aircraft which was preparing to land.

The plane, carrying two passengers, managed to land safely at the airport despite the malfunction.

Airport officials said Magen David Adom teams were dispersed throughout the landing strip in preparation for a crash landing.
