Defense Minister Benny Gantz meets with Egyptian Intelligence chief Abbas Kamel, showing him the Israeli military’s views on how to maintain a long-term ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

“Gantz presented the head of Egypt’s General Intelligence Directorate with the security-diplomacy principles that were put together by the defense establishment,” his office says.

Kamel has met with a number of top Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to discuss ongoing efforts to maintain the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, following this month’s 11-day battle between the two sides.

Director-General of the Defense Ministry Amir Eshel and the head of the ministry’s influential Political-Military Affairs Bureau, Zohar Palti, also attended the meeting between Gantz and Kamel, the defense minister’s office says.
