IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says Israel will respond to the Iranian missile attack on the country.
“We are on heightened alert on defense and offensive, we will protect the citizens of Israel. This [missile] fire will have consequences. We have plans, and we will act in the time and place that we choose,” he says.
Asked whether Israel is facing regional war, he says: “We’ve been facing a multi-front war, for a long time.
“This isn’t the first time Iran has fired,” he says, referring to Iran’s April attack, but “this fire was wider in terms of missiles, and the defensive response was set up as required.”
He says there were “very few impacts” and no known injuries at this stage “because of the responsible behavior of the public…, the activation of our defenses, and the actions of our partners to defend the State of Israel. We’ll continue to act in this way — offensively and defensively.”
Asked if there will be an immediate response against Iran, he says only, “We’re at maximal readiness.”
