Man, 30, seriously hurt in Lod shooting
Police say attack was apparently criminal; in second incident, residents report hearing gunfire in Tel Aviv

A man was seriously wounded in a shooting in the central Israeli city of Lod late Wednesday, police said.
The shooting was described in a preliminary police report as a criminal incident.
The man, 30, was shot on Sokolov Street in the city.
Magen David Adom medics took him to the nearby Assaf Harofeh Medical Center.
In a separate incident, police responded to reports of gunshots on Hahashmonaim Street in Tel Aviv Wednesday. Arriving at the scene, they found a stun grenade on the ground.
An investigation was launched.
In Haifa, a 40-year-old man was taken to hospital in moderate condition after suffering head wounds during a street brawl on Yavne Street.
