Man arrested in central Israel after brandishing knife at cops
Suspect, 56, from Israeli Arab town of Kafr Kassem, detained in Petah Tikva after being subdued by officers

A man who brandished a knife at a police officers in central Israel on Friday afternoon has been arrested, police said.
Officers arrived at a square in Petah Tikva after residents complained of a suspicious individual. They called on the man to halt but he pulled out a knife and waved it at them.
Police drew their weapons, but succeeded in subduing the man, identified as a 56-year-old resident of the Israeli Arab town of Kafr Kassem, without shooting him, police said.
The man was being detained for questioning.
