Man killed as minibus catches fire in Bnei Brak

In separate incident, suspect gives himself in to police after allegedly hitting 3-year-old with car in Kiryat Malachi

A man was killed Wednesday when a minibus caught fire in the central Israeli city of Bnei Brak.

A Magen David Adom team arrived on the scene and pronounced the man dead after he was extricated from the burning vehicle.

Following the incident, Nehemiah Street, where the minibus went up in flames, was closed to traffic in both directions.

Two other cars were damaged in the blaze as well.

Police were investigating the incident.

In a separate incident in Kiryat Malachi, a 21-year-old young man gave himself up to police after allegedly hitting a three-year-old child with his car and fleeing the scene.

The child was critically injured. A second man who was suspected of being in the vehicle during the incident was located by police as well.
