A man was seriously wounded in a car explosion on Saturday in the northern city of Acre, according to police and medics, in a suspected gangland hit.
Paramedics from the Magen David Adom ambulance service said they treated the 30-year-old man on the scene and then transported him to Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya in a severe condition.
The man’s identity was not immediately released.
The hospital said that he was taken to the trauma center for treatment and was sedated and on a ventilator.
A police statement said an investigation was opened into the incident, adding that a suspected motive was not immediately clear.
