A man in his 30s was killed Saturday after being stabbed in in Jerusalem’s Pisgat Zeev neighborhood.

The man’s brother, in his 20s, was lightly injured in the incident, according to media reports.

Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated the older brother to Hadassah Medical Center Mount Scopus in critical condition, where he died of his injuries.

Police said they’d apprehended two men suspected in the stabbings.

The incident is believed to have been of a criminal nature and not a nationalistic attack.

Witnesses told Ynet that the suspect quarreled with the brothers prior to the stabbing.

“We were very close to the location and immediately arrived at the scene. We saw a man in his thirties lying unconscious on the sidewalk with stab wounds,” one MDA paramedic at the scene said.

“We provided him with life-saving care, loaded him onto an intensive care ambulance, and urgently transported him to the hospital in critical condition. A 25-year-old man was walking around at the scene, and after medical examinations, he did not need to be evacuated.”
