Mobileye unveils new Jerusalem office campus

Israel’s Mobileye has unveiled plans for its new Jerusalem office campus, which will include a 25-floor tower and eight smaller buildings that will spread out over 50,000 square meters (538,000 square feet) in the Har Hotzvim High-Tech Park.

Once the campus is built the Jerusalem-based developer of advanced vision and driver assistance systems said it expects to increase its workforce to 4,000 people.

Earlier this year Intel Corp. said it would acquire Mobileye for $15.3 billion, and Mobileye would become the US giant’s hub for developing autonomous vehicle technologies. The Israeli company employed some 660 workers when the deal was announced in March.

The new campus, designed by Israeli architects Moshe Tzur Architects & Town Planners Ltd., was unveiled as Israel is set to celebrate this week the fiftieth anniversary of the unification of the eastern and western halves of Jerusalem following the 1967 Six Day War.

“There is no better week than this, in which we mark 50 years of the unification of Jerusalem, to expand the activities of Mobileye in the city,” said Mobileye’s CEO Ziv Aviram in a statement. “As part of its expansion, Mobileye will create thousands of jobs and will take a central part in the advancement of employment and development of the Israeli economy.”
