Woman, 3 children found stabbed to death in northern home
Victim's husband arrested for killing his own family, young neighbor; boy, 11, also found with stab wounds, in moderate condition
A 23-year-old woman and three children, aged 1, 2 and 8, were found stabbed to death Saturday in an apartment in the northern town of Migdal, near Tiberias. The woman’s husband, 28, with no criminal record, was arrested nearby shortly after the bodies were discovered. He was said to have confessed to the killings.
The two younger boys belonged to the woman, while the eight-year-old was a neighbor. His 11-year-old brother was found wounded at the scene, and reportedly escaped by fleeing out of a window.
The woman was named in the Hebrew-language media as Dor Crasanti-Sela, who was killed alongside her sons — Yosef, aged 2, and one-year-old Binyamin. The third child was identified as Nachman Atia.
Police believe that the man stabbed the two young neighbors as he fled after killing his wife and children, the Ynet news website said. He was caught by a youth who chased after him.
The first report of the incident was received by the Magen David Adom rescue service a little before 3 p.m. Fahima Nadeen Jubran, one of the paramedics who arrived at the apartment, said they were met with “a shocking sight.”
Jubran said the woman and three children were not breathing and displayed signs of a violent attack, and their deaths were pronounced at the scene. The 11-year-old boy was unconscious with stab wounds and given life-saving treatment before he was taken to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.
The head of trauma at Rambam, Dr. Hani Bachus, said that the child suffered stab wounds to the face and neck.
