A mother and her son were found dead in Acre in what appears to have been a murder-suicide, mere days after a similar incident in Jerusalem.

Police said that the body of the woman, said to have been about 35 years old, was found on the ground outside her apartment building on Golani Brigade Street.

Inside her apartment they found a dead boy some six years of age, apparently her son, with multiple stab wounds on his body.

Early reports said it appeared the woman had killed her son inside the apartment and then killed herself by jumping or falling from the sixth floor of the apartment building.

Neighbors said that the woman had attempted suicide in the past and had appeared very troubled in recent days.

The incident came only a few days after a mother in Jerusalem killed her four daughters, set fire to the apartment and then hanged herself.
