Mother charged with stabbing son at Shabbat dinner
Petah Tikva woman says 28-year-old threatened her with a knife; son sustained moderate injuries in last week's incident
A woman accused of stabbing her son last week during a family dinner was charged in the Petah Tikva District Court on Friday.
Tatyana Yuriv, 55, admitted to the accusations against her during police interrogation and was released under house arrest, Ynet reported.
The incident occurred last Friday night when Yuriv stabbed her 28-year-old son during a dispute at their Petah Tikva home in which she said he threatened her and her husband, his father, with a knife.
The stabbing took place in front of at least nine other family members who were detained by police for questioning.
Authorities maintained that none of the individuals in question had criminal records and that the family was not known to local police.
The son sustained moderate-to-serious injuries in the attack, with stab wounds to his upper body. He was taken to the city’s Beilinson Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
