Mural festival brings wall-to-wall art to Haifa
Eight artists will create an artistic dialogue on the walls of the port city's downtown area from October 11 to 13
October is the time to head to Haifa — if you didn’t get to the port city for last week’s film festival. During the Walls Festival, an artsy weekend October 11-13, commissioned artists will create outdoor mural art on the buildings and walls around the downtown neighborhoods of the city.
Eight leading artists are being hosted in this year’s festival: Demsky from Spain, Leolyxxx from Sweden, Haifa’s Tant, Keos and Alin Mor, as well as Missing, Manyearsago and Korma Dima from Tel Aviv.
The artists will create large-scale murals as part of the third annual event, which will include art tours, parties and artistic gatherings in celebration of the public art festival.
The aim of Walls is to help develop Haifa’s more neglected urban neighborhoods with public art that offers a dialogue between the artists and the location. Check the Walls Festival Facebook page for locations and times.
