Netanyahu finds love at the Taj Mahal
PM and wife Sara strike a pose outside Indian icon in a rare 'moment of relaxation on a very intensive visit'
AGRA, India — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara took a break Tuesday on his intensive India trip to visit the iconic Taj Mahal.
“In India we met much love, love for Israel, and here we are in the temple of love,” Netanyahu says after visiting the white marble mausoleum built by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Netanyahu and his wife posed for photos, trailed closely by Indian paparazzi, as they played tourist for the day.
“This is a moment of relaxation on a very intensive visit. I would like to thank Indian PM (Narendra) Modi for allowing us this moment as well,” he said.

Parts of Agra were closed off to make way for Netanyahu’s convoy, with thousands of onlookers apparently wanting to get a peek at the prime minister.
The route from the military airport to the Taj was bedecked with posters welcoming Netanyahu, sponsored by Uttar Pradesh state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Netanyahu is on a week-long visit to India, his first to the country and the first by an Israeli leader in more than a decade.
Netanyahu is looking to deepen the countries’ diplomatic relationship and get a massive arms deal back on track.
