Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday reprimanded opposition leader Shaul Mofaz for “irresponsible” conduct with the media, presumably in reference to the latter’s criticism of the prime minister’s ostensible intention to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“I know you will make use in the media of what is said in the present discussion, yet I expect you to be more responsible than you have been in recent times,” Netanyahu said.
Netanyahu’s comments came during a routine update meeting with Mofaz in the Kadima head’s capacity as opposition leader.
After the meeting, sources close to Mofaz said “Netanyahu is the only serial leaker among Israel’s leadership echelon.”
Mofaz recently accused Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak of leading Israel toward a potentially “disastrous” war with a strike on Iran, and said their decision-making was flawed and over-hasty.
