Jerusalem police commander to avoid criminal charges for protecting boss
Nissim Edri accused of failing to report sexual misconduct by city's top cop, Niso Shaham
Jerusalem police substation commander Nissim Edri will be subject to internal disciplinary action instead of a criminal indictment for his role in failing to report alleged indecent acts by his superior, the police’s internal affairs department announced on Thursday.
Niso Shaham, the head of Jerusalem’s police force, is under investigation for sexual misconduct with a number of women serving under him.
Both Shaham and Edri were on leave as of last week, pending an investigation into the accusations against Shaham.
There was “no doubt” that Edri was innocent and acted in good faith, his lawyer said.
