Israeli mother of seven killed in West Bank car accident

An Israeli woman was killed and six people were injured in a head-on automobile collision between an Israeli vehicle and a Palestinian vehicle on the road between Tekoa and Herodion in the West Bank on Monday.

Dr. Shira Abramson, 60, of Tekoa was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the mother of seven.

A second woman, a passenger in Abramson’s car, was seriously injured in the accident. She was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital with injuries to her chest, stomach and limbs.

Five Palestinians, all passengers in the second car, were lightly injured and evacuated to local Palestinian hospitals in the area.

Police initiated an investigation as to the cause of the accident.
