Egyptians want to maintain peaceful relations with Israel, but they also want those relations to be cold, a new survey shows.
As the Egyptian people ready themselves to choose new leadership, and following the Arab Spring, the survey by Jerusalem’s Menachem Begin Heritage Center found that 75% of respondents prefer peace with Israel — although 18% prefer war.
The poll, reported on Channel 2 on Monday night, also found 93% of Egyptians believe that the peace with Israel is a cold one, and that 80% want it to remain that way.
