Police appeal for public’s help in finding murder suspect
Alfonso Azaria, 63, sought after victim found in Holon apartment with knife in back
Police are seeking the public’s help in finding Alfonso Azaria, a Holon resident suspected of murdering a man found dead of a stab wound in his apartment earlier on Saturday.
The last reported sighting of Azaria, 63, was shortly after the time of the murder, when he was involved in a minor car accident near the Halacha interchange in Tel Aviv on the Ayalon Highway.
Azaria was described by authorities as 1.78 meters tall with brown eyes and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing jeans and a blue button down shirt.
Police have asked anyone with information regarding Azaria’s whereabouts to contact authorities immediately at 03-555-5222, 03-502-7911, or by dialing the standard emergency hotline 100.
The victim, a 57-year-old resident of Ramat Gan, was found dead early Saturday in Azaria’s Holon apartment with a knife in his back.
He had been reported missing since Friday. Officers had tracked his location to Azaria’s apartment using his cellphone.
Additional details of the investigation were placed under gag order by the Herzliya Magistrate Court.
