Police launched a murder investigation after a body was found Thursday at an abandoned building in the central city of Ramat Hasharon.
Officers were alerted after Magen David Adom paramedics who were called to the building found the 40 something-year-old man without signs of life, pronouncing him dead at the scene.
Police noticed burn marks and other signs of violence on the body, which was taken to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute for an autopsy, according to the Maariv news website.
In a separate incident, police opened an investigation into a shooting in the northern town of Arraba in which a 31-year-old resident was killed.
Officers were scouring the area for two suspects, with aerial assistance from a police helicopter.
