The late-Saturday search included local police and a helicopter.

The youth was not identified by authorities.

In a separate incident, the body of a man was recovered from outlying surf breakers off a Haifa beach on Saturday. The man has not been officially identified, but officials said they believed he was a tourist who went missing at the beach on Tuesday.

Also Saturday, a man was lightly hurt in a shooting near a gas station at Mesubim Junction, on Route 4 southeast of Tel Aviv.

The victim was taken to Tel Hashomer Hospital, and police have launched an investigation into the incident.
