Policeman dies after vehicle flips in Jerusalem
A second officer, 21, moderately injured in accident in Kiryat Yovel; 10 cyclists struck by drivers on road in South
A 27-year-old police officer died Friday morning from injuries sustained in a car accident in Jerusalem overnight.
A 21-year-old policewoman who was also in the vehicle remained hospitalized at Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem medical center in moderate condition.
The two were injured when their patrol vehicle overturned while driving in the Kiryat Yovel neighborhood of the capital.
The circumstances of the accident were under investigation.
In two other incidents Friday morning, a 59-year-old woman died in a car crash near the town of Yavne, and ten cyclists were injured when struck by two cars on Route 3 in southern Israel.
Nine cyclists suffered light injuries, and one was moderately injured, while the two drivers of the vehicles were lightly injured.
