Popera tenors Il Divo plan June performance
The four singers, known for duets with Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion, will land in Israel as part of a world tour
Il Divo, the quartet of tenors known for its duets with Barbra Streisand and Celine Dion, is making a one-night stop in Israel on June 19, at Tel Aviv’s Menora Mivtachim Arena.
The quartet is currently on a world tour with its show “Timeless.”
The group, whose name means “divine performer” in Italian, was formed by reality show creator Simon Cowell, who was inspired by the Three Tenors — Luciano Pavarotti, Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo.
Cowell formed the multinational quartet of singers in 2003, after a three-year, worldwide search.
The four are Sebastian Izambard from France, David Miller from the US, Urs Bühler from Switzerland and Carlos Martin from Spain.
They specialize in popera, a blend of opera and pop, and have produced nine albums with more than 160 million copies sold.
Tickets for Il Divo are available for NIS 299 to NIS 899.
