Pot found in deputy health minister’s car after crash

Police found marijuana in the car registered to Deputy Health Minister Yaakov Litzman after the deputy’s driver hit a stone wall in Jerusalem while riding alone in the government vehicle, Ynet reported Tuesday. The driver, who fled the scene, was not hurt in the accident.

The police brought the driver in for questioning after a search of the car showed traces of marijuana. Police officials said the driver admitted to  having smoked soft drugs a few days ago, yet denied being under the influence while on duty. His license was taken away for 90 days.

Litzman’s office said the accident took place during a private trip by one of the deputy minister’s drivers and the matter was being investigated.
