Pro-US rally to take place in Tel Aviv
Student movement Im Tirzu seeks to support Americans in wake of recent attacks on Middle East embassies
A rally in support of US citizens in the wake of recent attacks on US embassies throughout the Middle East was set to take place Tuesday in front of the US Embassy in Tel Aviv.
Organized by Im Tirzu, an extra-parliamentary movement which calls for a ‘Zionist renewal’ and operates on university and college campuses in Israel, the event was described on Facebook as a rally “to show our support for the American people” in the wake of the attacks.
“We wish to remind our friends in the US that there is only one country in the Middle East that shares the values of freedom and liberty; one country in the Middle East that the US can always count on for support. Israel stands with the American people against those who would like to see the fall of Western values,” read the Facebook statement.
