Rahat man succumbs to wounds sustained in brawl stabbing
After doctors declare death of Fahd Naif al-Qasasi, another fight breaks out between clans in southern Bedouin town
Doctors at Beersheba’s Soroka Medical Center on Thursday declared the death of a 29-year-old man, who was stabbed in a fight that broke out overnight between residents of the southern Bedouin town of Rahat.
The man was identified as Fahd Naif al-Qasasi.
Police arrived at the scene and have opened a probe into incident. Following the announcement of al-Qasasi’s death, another large brawl erupted between two clans in Rahat. Authorities were working to restore order in the town.
Two days ago, a 33-year-old man, Hafeed Issa, was stabbed to death during an altercation involving a number of people in the village of Nahaf in northern Israel.
In another incident overnight Sunday, a man in his 30s was stabbed to death in Tiberias, apparently during a brawl. He was taken to the city’s Poriya Hospital in serious condition and then transferred to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, where he was declared dead. A resident of the city, 27, was arrested in connection with the incident.
