Rocket sirens sound near Gaza in false alarm
Not immediately clear what caused alert to sound in communities near Palestinian enclave

A rocket alarm sounded in several communities near the Gaza Strip Sunday morning, sending residents scrambling for shelter.
The Israel Defense Forces said shortly after that the siren had been a false alarm.
The siren went off just before 8 a.m.
It was not immediately clear what tripped the early warning system, which sounded near the Kerem Shalom Crossing in the south of the Gaza Strip and communities in the Eshkol region immediately north of the Palestinian enclave.
Rocket fire into Israel, once a near-daily occurrence, has largely been stemmed since Israel and Gaza-based fighters fought a bloody 50-day war in 2014.
