Second suspect arrested in connection with London tube bomb

21-year-old man arrested in west London, after 18-year-old nabbed at Dover ferry departure area on Saturday

A second man has been arrested in connection with Friday’s bombing of a packed London Underground train, police said Sunday, after announcing that they were hunting for more suspects.

The 21-year-old was detained late Saturday in Hounslow, on the western rim of the capital, a statement said. The suspect is being detained at a south London police station.

Officers had earlier arrested an 18-year-old man over the attack at Parsons Green station, which injured 30 people.

The teenager, reported by British press to have been living in a foster home in Surrey, was nabbed in the ferry departure area of the port of Dover.

Police raided his foster home in Sunbury near London on Saturday in search of a bomb-making factory.

In 2009, his foster parents, who are not suspects, were appointed Members of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) by the Queen for their services to children and families.

The bombing was Britain’s fifth terror attack in six months.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility.
