Selfie-seeker enters crocodile enclosure at Ramat Gan zoo
Safari park says it filed a police complaint about man seen in video posing with the toothy reptiles
A visitor at the Ramat Gan Safari entered the crocodile enclosure to snap a photo of himself with the dangerous reptiles.
Footage of the incident, which reportedly happened last Thursday, began to circulate on social media on Sunday.
In the short clip the man is seen crouching to get a photo just meters from two crocodiles while boasting of his exploit to onlookers.
The crocodiles appear unmoved by the antics.
The zoo said in a statement that as soon as administrators viewed the video “we quickly filed a complaint with police.”
Officials said the man had climbed over fences and barriers, which is prohibited, and put himself in danger.
“The safari management takes a serious view of this and will consider additional steps against this person,” the statement said.
Officials implored the public to “respect the animals” and the safari’s safety rules.
