An Israeli vehicle was fired upon Thursday evening in the West Bank along the main road between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. There were no injuries reported.

The vehicle’s passengers were a resident of Mevasseret Zion and a European tourist when it was fired upon near the settlement of Mitzpe Yericho, which overlooks the Palestinian city of Jericho.

According to Walla News, the two were taking a hike in the area when they noticed a Palestinian man nearby, who opened fire after the two returned to their car and started driving away.

The IDF Spokesperson confirmed that the attack had taken place. The army was combing the area for the attacker, who was believed to have fled to the Wadi Qelt area in the Judean Desert next to the settlement.
