Simpsons lampoons Trump in election spoof

Homer and Marge consider who they want to have answer that 3 a.m. call in the White House

‘The Simpsons” takes a swipe at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s skin color, hair style, and apparent keen interest in social media in a short clip published online this weekend.

The two-minute segment opens with Homer and Marge Simpson enjoying an amorous moment, before Marge breaks away and informs Homer that she is conflicted over whom to vote for in the upcoming elections.

“I can’t make love till I’ve decided who to vote for,” she says.

Turning on their bedroom TV set, a voice asks: “It’s 3 a.m. and the phone is ringing in the White House. Who do you want to have answer that call?”

The first option is Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and her ex-commander-in-chief husband Bill. Although the former president takes the call and enthusiastically offers to come down to the “situation room” he then remembers he is no long POTUS, and passes the phone to Hillary.

“That’s right,” Hillary tells him. “From now on it’s always for me.”

The cartoon then turns to Republican candidate Donald Trump, who is seen fiddling with his cellphone as he sits in a large, opulent four-poster bed.

On a pillow alongside Trump is a volume entitled “Greatest Speeches” authored by one A. Hitler. After repeatedly rejecting the phone call so that he could continue tweeting on the phone, the Republican finally agrees to go down to the sit room, but not before first going through several hours of preparations to produce his familiar coiffed appearance.

A team of assistants administers an injection to re-inflate his face, spray on an orange tan, and place a small dog on his head and comb its fur into Trump’s signature hair style. Two fake hands are then placed over his own notoriously small fingers.

Unfortunately for the imagined Trump, by the time he is ready the emergency is out of control.

Having viewed these two scenarios, Homer declares he will vote for Trump. But he quickly changes his mind when Marge warns: “If that’s your vote, I question if I can ever be with you again.”

“And that’s how I became a Democrat,” Homer says into the camera.
