A Palestinian assailant stabbed an Israeli soldier Wednesday, outside the Israeli settlement of Nahliel in the West Bank Wednesday.

The soldier, 20, was moderately wounded from stab wounds to his back and was evacuated to Tel HaShomer hospital outside of Tel Aviv.

The assailant, a teenage girl, was arrested by security forces at the scene and taken in for questioning at a nearby security facility.

The soldier was on patrol near a military pillbox off Route 450.

The past year has seen an uptick in lone-wolf stabbing and vehicular attacks by Palestinians against Israeli civilians and soldiers, leaving dozens injured and a handful killed.

Over the past two months, a number of Israelis have also been shot while driving in the West Bank.

Two weeks ago, a 20-year-old female IDF soldier was stabbed by a female Palestinian attacker outside of Bethlehem.
