A Palestinian assailant stabbed an Israeli soldier Wednesday, outside the Israeli settlement of Nahliel in the West Bank Wednesday.
The soldier, 20, was moderately wounded from stab wounds to his back and was evacuated to Tel HaShomer hospital outside of Tel Aviv.
The assailant, a teenage girl, was arrested by security forces at the scene and taken in for questioning at a nearby security facility.
The soldier was on patrol near a military pillbox off Route 450.
The past year has seen an uptick in lone-wolf stabbing and vehicular attacks by Palestinians against Israeli civilians and soldiers, leaving dozens injured and a handful killed.

Responsibly covering this tumultuous time
As The Times of Israel’s political correspondent, I spend my days in the Knesset trenches, speaking with politicians and advisers to understand their plans, goals and motivations.
I'm proud of our coverage of this government's plans to overhaul the judiciary, including the political and social discontent that underpins the proposed changes and the intense public backlash against the shakeup.
Your support through The Times of Israel Community helps us continue to keep readers across the world properly informed during this tumultuous time. Have you appreciated our coverage in past months? If so, please join the ToI Community today.
