Soldiers find NIS 62,000 in cash for Hamas in Bethlehem raid

Overnight operation in Bethlehem refugee camp also turns up cache of knives, observation equipment

IDF forces found knives and cash in an early Friday raid in a refugee camp in Bethlehem which the army said were intended for use by Hamas to carry out terror attacks.

The raid in the Al-Ayda refugee camp was carried out by the Kfir infantry brigade and Homefront Command forces.

Some 62,000 shekels (about $16,000) in cash were found and transferred to the Israel Police.

A large cache of knives, along with observation equipment.

In separate operations, three Hamas members were arrested throughout the West Bank overnight Thursday.
