Stanley Fischer collapses at his home
Outgoing Bank of Israel Governor taken to Tel Hashomer for treatment

A medical crew was dispatched to the Herzliya home of Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer Tuesday evening.
Fisher, 70, reportedly collapsed and briefly lost consciousness, but paramedics were able to stabilize him before taking him to Tel Hashomer Hospital, where he will remain under supervision over night.
Bank of Israel spokesman Yossi Sa’adon issued a statement saying Fischer was feeling better and had suffered from dehydration and fatigue.
The world-renowned economist is set to step down later this month after serving as the head of Israel’s central bank for eight years. Earlier this week, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that former BOI governor Jacob Frenkel would make a return to the post as Fischer’s successor.
