Device in a trash bin detonates in Adriatic town of Brindisi
ROME (AP) — An official says two students have been killed and six others have been wounded by the explosion of a device in a trash bin outside their vocational high school in southern Italy.
The device went off just before 8 a.m. in the Adriatic port town of Brindisi just as students were arriving for class Saturday.
Local civil protection official Fabiano Amati said the first casualty was a female student who died of her wounds after being taken to a hospital. The seven other students were hospitalized, and one of them also died from their injuries.
