Suzanne Vega returns to Israel for 2 back-to-back performances

The popular folk-rock singer will perform at Masada’s Tamar Festival and in Haifa the next night, both during the Sukkot holiday

Beloved troubadour Suzanne Vega is returns to Israel in September for two back-to-back concerts, first at the Tamar Festival at Masada on September 26 and then on September 27 in Haifa.

She’ll be joined by the string orchestra of the Ra’anana Symphony.

Vega has been beloved in Israel since her debut album came out in 1985, and has appeared in Israel four times. Her last performance in Israel was in 2015, when she appeared at Tel Aviv’s Mann Auditorium with the Israel Philharmonic.

Now 59, Vega always offers a selection of her best-known songs and hits, including “Luka,” “Marlena on the Wall,” “Left of Center” and “Tom’s Diner.”

Her ninth and latest album, “Lover, Beloved: Songs from an Evening with Carson McCullers,” was released in 2016, based on her Off Off Broadway show about the southern writer.
