A special celebratory stamp will mark the 100th anniversary of the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, according to a statement by the Israel Postal Company.
The stamp, launched on Tuesday by the Israel Postal Company’s Philatelic Service, features an illustration showing the original Hebrew invitation to the institute’s opening ceremony from a century ago, together with a picture of a nano-parachute, a new technology developed at the institute.
The stamp also shows the Technion’s façade, designed by Jewish-German architect Alexander Baerwald, a innovator of modern Israeli architecture.
The director of the Israel Technion Society, Naama Tumarkin, designed the stamp, which will have a value of NIS 2.60.
