Three dead, three children injured in separate incidents
Police grapple with multiple incidents Saturday in Nazareth, Tel Aviv and Jisr a-Zarka; none said to be terror-related
Three people were killed and three children wounded Saturday in three separate shooting and stabbing incidents around the country.
Two men, aged 33 and 34, were killed in Nazareth in an apparent drive-by shooting as they sat in front of a private home in the city’s Bir el Amir neighborhood on Saturday night.
Police said the incident was being investigated as linked to organized crime, saying one of the victims was believed to be collateral damage in a feud between criminals.
They were taken to the city’s English Hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead.
Meanwhile, a 37-year-old homeless man was found dead on Levinsky Street in southern Tel Aviv on Saturday evening.
His body was found without a pulse in a parking lot near the city’s central bus station. Medics from the Hatzalah rescue organization tried to resuscitate the man, but were unsuccessful. A Magen David Adom paramedic declared him dead at the scene.
Initial reports conflicted over the cause of death, with one saying a stab wound was found in his thigh.
Police have launched an investigation into the apparent murder. There was no immediate word on suspects or a motive in the attack.
Also on Saturday evening, three children were hurt, one seriously, in a drive-by shooting in Jisr a-Zarka.
The three were taken to Hillel Yafe Medical Center in nearby Hadera, where doctors said one was in life-threatening condition.
Police have launched an investigation into the shooting. It is not immediately clear who the shooter was targeting in the attack.
