Three electrocuted at northern kibbutz fish farm

Three men died Thursday after being electrocuted at a fish pond in a kibbutz in northern Israel. The three men, Nir Glassman, Orel Bucharis and Michael Gidi Raz, in their early 20s, were friends who had all grown up on kibbutzim.
Magen David Adom rescue paramedics tried to resuscitate two of the men at the scene of the accident at Kibbutz Ayelet Hashahar. The men were pronounced dead at the scene.
According a report from Channel 2, an initial investigation suggested that one of men tried to install a fish-feeder in the pond and was electrocuted. One of his companions tried to pull him from the water but was also electrocuted, as was the third.
A fourth worker shut off the electricity and alerted emergency services. The source of the electric malfunction was under investigation.
Israel Radio reported that the police and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor were looking into possible negligence as the cause of the accident.
