Three female soldiers report attempted kidnapping

Police unsure if incident was of sexual or nationalist in nature

Police were searching for two men who allegedly tried to force three female soldiers into their car near an army base Tuesday. It was unclear whether the attack was an attempted kidnapping or of a sexual nature.

The incident took place near Base 80, an IDF training facility close to the town of Pardes Hanna.

According to the soldiers, they were standing at the bus stop when a car pulled up alongside them and they were offered a ride. When the three refused, the passenger opened his door, grabbed one of the women soldiers and tried to pull her into the car. The soldier put up a fight and the car drove off.

Police set up roadblocks in the area, and a helicopter was called in to aid the cops on the ground. “We’re taking the incident seriously, but also checking the women’s story,” a police source told NRG.

In a statement, the IDF said it was aware of the case and was waiting for the police to complete its investigation.
