1-year-old boy brought to clinic in critical condition but efforts to resuscitate him fail
A one-year-old boy was killed on Thursday after apparently being hit by a car in the predominantly Bedouin city of Rahat in southern Israel.
The unconscious boy was brought to a local clinic, where he was given initial treatment. Magen David Adom paramedics also arrived and assisted in efforts to resuscitate the boy, but he was eventually declared dead.
MDA said in a statement that the boy was in critical condition, suffering from multiple injuries, and did not respond to medication or physical efforts to resuscitate him.
The Israel Police opened an investigation into the incident.
According to the National Road Safety Authority, 73 people have been killed on the country’s roads since the beginning of the year.
